Who We Are
Since its founding in 2002, Charm City Run has been deeply committed to community investment and engagement. This commitment was formalized in 2020 with the establishment of the Live. Give. Run. Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to inspire and move the human spirit, one sole at a time. Recently renamed the Charm City Run Foundation, the mission builds on Charm City Run’s 24-year history of giving, contributing over three million dollars to Maryland-headquartered nonprofit organizations. Additionally, Charm City Run Events works with local nonprofits, and have helped them raise over $500,000 for their respective missions.
The Charm City Run Foundation focuses its grantmaking on environmental initiatives, equitable access to education and opportunity, and health and wellness programs. We believe in the transformative power of movement and community. To that end, we utilize Charm City Run resources to support local organizations, provide apparel and footwear, and enable participation in running/walking events for individuals who might otherwise lack these opportunities. Our primary investment areas are Baltimore City and Baltimore County, as well as the communities where our stores are located.
Where We Give
Environment:
Our foundation prioritizes organizations dedicated to environmental preservation, conservation, and advocacy. We specifically focus on restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay watershed and ensuring and safeguarding access to green spaces and parks.
Education & Opportunity:
We believe in equitable access to educational, experiential, and economic opportunities, particularly for young people. Our mission is to impact the communities we serve by investing in underrepresented and underinvested individuals and groups. We achieve this by prioritizing education and youth development, and focusing on access and opportunity.
Health & Wellness:
We are dedicated to inspiring and supporting individuals on their wellness journey, and recognize the importance of both mental and physical health. Our mission is to partner with organizations that champion wellness and physical fitness through connection, awareness, and inclusivity. We strive to eliminate barriers, reduce stigmas, and expand care and resources for all.
What We Believe
The choices we make everyday can impact our environment in a positive or negative way. We have an opportunity and obligation to enact positive change and create a sustainable environment for future generations.
Access, equity, and opportunity in education are fundamental to solving the problems we face in our communities everyday.
The human body can do amazing things, and physical activity helps us to be the best version of ourselves we can be.
